Casual Painter & Decorator
The successful candidate will report to the General Manager and be required to work 25 hours per week with the potential for additional hours. Although the majority of the working hours will be Monday to Friday there will be occasions when weekend working/ cover is required..
The main duties will be as follows:
To carry out regular Painting / Decoration/Tiling/Handyman works on the building
•9am to 5-30pm basis Monday to Friday. Depending on operation needs, some weekend shifts will be required.
•To be able to work without supervision and handle guests requirements
in an efficient and polite manner.
•To maintain and renovate various areas of the hotel public areas and bedrooms. Your main responsibility will include wallpapering, grouting, tilling, decorating and painting
•To ensure all hotel fixtures, fittings and equipment are maintained in good working condition and that defects are corrected promptly
•To understand regular inspections to the fabric of the building and effect all necessary repairs. To report back any defects that require further skills to the Maintenance Manager
•To ensure all areas of the hotel are maintained in a safe condition and to take action immediately when unsafe situations arise
•To keep sufficient stocks of consumable goods for use in the case of general Hotel maintenance as directed by the Maintenance Manager.
•To be able to communicate effectively
•To respond to call outs, when necessary due to emergency arising unexpectedly
•To comply with all H&S and Statutory regulations in force ,especially ladder
safety and working at height regulations/COSHH directives
•To ensure that the workshop or paint storage areas are kept clean and tidy at all times.
•To be flexible throughout the working day, so as to meet demands from the guest.
•To inform all other departments of work being carried out in the Hotel.
