Environmental Policy

The Mandolay Hotel on Britain's Finest

We believe that everyone has a duty of care to the environment and to seek ways to conserve natural resources. The Mandolay Hotel takes its environmental responsibilities very seriously and we are committed to ensuring best practice in all areas of our operation.

We strive to minimise our impact on the environment by closely monitoring our consumption of water, energy and resources, and wherever possible and practical we keep necessary emissions to an absolute minimum.

The Mandolay works hard to reduce waste and is committed to a policy of sensible recycling, responsible transport management and sustainable procurement.

The Mandolay is the only hotel in the area to offer a free charging service for electric cars both for hotel residents and their guests. We introduced this service in 2009 and we expect its usage to increase year on year. Wherever possible, we have installed motion sensitive lights and low-energy light bulbs to reduce our energy consumption.

As part of our environmental programme the Mandolay will make a donation of £5.00 to Water Aid on behalf of any guest arriving at the hotel via public transport (please contact reception for details).

Our environmental policy is flexible and we are delighted to respond to comments from individuals and other organisations; if you have an idea that you feel would help us in our resource or waste management please let us know.

We regularly review our environmental policy and the ways in which it continues to be implemented. Rather than a passive document our policy is a way of working and living in our local environment with an eye to the wider consequences of our actions.

We hope that you appreciate our commitment and share our vision.
